Our stakeholder is pictured here on the left.
Stakeholders are undoubtedly an essential part of the entire design process. For this reason it is of utmost importance to maintain constant contact with them - they decide what the product is really going to look like and how it's going to function. Stakeholders also give a great clue as to whether there is a market for the lamp to sell. No market = No business and No lamps.
Design brief

Once Lumen Lamps found a stakeholder, we had to decide on how we were going to source informative user feedback to supplement our iterative design process. In the practice of product design, there are four commonly agreed on methods to acquire feedback: User Journey, Observation, Interview and Site Journey.
Depending on the context that the designer is dealing with they must make a rational choice and select the options that best suit their stakeholder. For Lumen Lamps the chosen options were Observation and Interview. Both of these routes helped us analyse how the lamp would be used by the stakeholder and allowed us to tailor the features to their needs.
